The Circuit Court Clerks Office provides Judicial Commissioners for Law Enforcement and the General Public for the purpose of issuing Criminal Warrants and Criminal Summons in the absence of a Judge. The Judicial Commissioners also issue search warrants for Law Enforcement.

Judicial Commissioners are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to issue criminal paperwork and set bail on those people arrested for criminal offenses and set their court dates on those charges. There is a Judicial Commissioner in the Blount County Justice Center from Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. until Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m., then a Commissioner is on call 12 hours at a time on the weekends and holidays for the citizens of Blount County who might have an emergency or life threatening situation. Judicial Commissioners act under the authority and supervision of the General Sessions Judges.
